Valet Movers Good Price Professional Service.

Frankly I am shocked to see these bad reviews. I had a very good experiance with Valet Movers. The phone was always answered when I called, a nice young man named Spencer came out to do a visual estimate and the move was in fact the cost I was quoted. Each of my furniture items were wrapped and prepped correctly and the move was done quickly, efficantly, and everyone was courtous. I don't know about these other reivews, but I will say that Valet Movers did a great job for me!

Long-distance move from California to Colorado

Absolutely 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

Absolutely 100% satisfaction guaranteed. What a great experience moving with Valet Movers. We moved using Valet Movers twice in 7 weeks for an outstation move . Their planning and logistics are great and these guys turned out to be friendly, quick, and thorough. Using a mover is expensive but in the end it was money very well spent. I'd use them again and again.

Long-distance move from California to Nevada

Warning DO NOT USE.

WARNING do not use. THEFT by contractors. No office just a PO box, They do not own their own trucks. They hire outside contractors to drive.First, when your crew came to load us onto the moving truck, they ended up putting items on their truck that were against a wall in our home that I showed the head guy that these were all items NOT to put on the rented truck, that we were taking them ourselves -  because these were valuable and precious to us. These consisted of: boxes of liquor, including an extremely expensive box of Louis XIII cognac. Also it's strange that 2 large boxes of valuable electronics never made it. 3/4 of the way through your crew's loading our items, we realized our 3 boxes of expensive liquor, which we indicated WE would take with us, in our car, were gone -  supposedly "already on the truck" and too small and too late to find them to take off truck. We even said you are not able by law to take liquor on the truck. They just winked and shrugged.  The head guy said too that they had already put them the truck already and couldn't be taken off, it was too difficult. At that point we had no choice but to trust your crew that they would arrive to us safely.  Which they didn't. Those liquor boxes never made it to our new home. Bear in mind, to repeat, we designated those liquor boxes to NOT go on the rented moving truck - but your employees said they put them on there.  And now they are nowhere to be found. They were not even listed on the pickup order.

When we demanded an answer they just said just sign, we have to go, this is my FIRST time we are both working for Valet and have never filled in the agreements before. When we acquired counsel, they stated that the filled in agreements were illegible .Secondly, at the end  of loading up their truck, the head moving guy said we had something like 45 EXTRA boxes more than what my wife and I hadn't accounted for!  We were astounded and confused, plus the writing on his paperwork listing all items was pretty much illegible so one couldn't coordinate what he with what he was telling us about all of these "extra boxes". At that point, the head Valet mover guy admitted he was "new" and had just started and wasn't sure how "this all works".  Unbelievable. Even the different unloading/mover guys (contractors, not employees) that actually delivered the items to us, and unloaded them, couldn't make any sense of the packing list that Valet Movers' guy wrote. They also literally said it was the worst inventory move list they had EVER seen as it was mostly illegible.  We called Valet as soon as we began a thorough unpacking, noting what was missing and have been calling Valet weekly EVER since, only to be told "we are still looking" and when they find them they would call. A employee Ria, stated that if we wanted to come to San Diego to check the warehouse ourselves, she would schedule it. I went only to find a PO Box. I even left  messages Joe, (owner) to please call me regarding this matter -- and NEVER even got a phone call from you.

Rachel has never returned calls again after our initial calls.  It is very apparent that if these items went to the wrong client, they would have been reported.  At this point we see this situation as a theft, especially the liquor boxes -- which are extremely valuable and were only in their liquor "gift box" not packed in a moving box.

Long-distance move from California to New Jersey

Recommend Anytime.

I was originally booked with another company but after reading their reviews decided to go with Valet Movers. I was nervous about the initial reviews I saw about these guys as well, until an agent told me to scroll down and click on the filtered reviews ( I guess yelp thinks their reviews are fake). I booked with Valet Movers two days before my move. I was stressed out of my mind because of the move being so last minute. I did not take advantage of the onsite, however they did estimate my cubic feet almost on the dot. They showed up on a Saturday (thank god they work weekends), with three guys, and really WORKED! In three hours they had my three bedroom house packed and in the truck. My things arrived eleven days after they picked it up. It hard hard to be in Oregon without my things for so long, but honestly so worth the wait. Don't move yourself, hire these guys. They're super friendly, cheap, and hard workers! THANKS VALET MOVERS!

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Pleasantly Surprised!!

I write this review after having a nearly flawless move with Valet Movers. I moved in July, 2013 from La Jolla, CA to Hollywood, FL.  This was my first experience with professional movers and I was extremely scared to say the least. After hearing so many horror stories I decided to have a few different companies come out and give me an in-home estimate.
Valet Movers was more than willing to come out and provide me with the estimate.  Rachel came to my apartment to provide me with the moving quote.  She was very honest. I had three other companies come out and I have to say Rachel by far was the most thorough. She advised me of every charge I could possibly be faced with and also gave me a list of items that could incur extra charges.
Happy to report there were no extra fees added to my estimate and she even waived 2 flights of stairs at my pick-up address! I did have them pack my Flat-screen TV and a few glass pieces which she also gave me a reasonable price.
Ultimately I chose Valet Movers simply because of the customer service (their A rating with the BBB didn't hurt either) and how honest I felt the sales staff was.  My items arrived to my new home in FL 8 days after pick-up and much to my relief all of my items were intact and unscathed.
My best moving advice is to ask lots of questions, receive an in-home estimate and follow the moving companies advice. I did these things and it worked for me! Good Luck!

Long-distance move from California to Colorado

Long Distance Move.

I booked Valet movers 6 days before my move and they gave me a fair honest price and walked me through the entire process,  They came in very close to their estimate, and the difference was with me using a credit card for the deposit which added an extra fee (but this was explained ahead of time and not a surprise).   The movers were prompt and courteous.  They were a couple of hours late for pick up, but called ahead so that I wouldn't be waiting around giving me an updated time at which they arrived within 15 minutes of the updated time.  They also were very thorough, and took extra care to assure that my fragile boxes were well marked and that my wall pictures and 47" television were properly wrapped for shipping.   Upon delivery, there was one slight discrepancy which was resolved by the office on a Saturday night within 30 minutes when a phone call was made to the office to inquire about the discrepancy, and items were delivered on a Sunday Morning with the same care and courtesy that was provided when items were picked up.  My items were delivered well within the 21 days, as is appropriate for a move to a lesser-traveled route cross country, and all of my items made it in great condition.  One scratch on a bed rail was noted, but not in an area where it is extremely visible and ALL of my GLASSWARE made it without ANY damage what-so-ever.   Overall, a very smooth move and I would look to use this company again in the future.

Don't use them.

As I sit here waiting for my delivery I am thinking about all the problems I've had with this company.
Initially their response and service was the best, problems started when I got the bid which did not have everything listed. I sent an email to Spencer stating I did not want problems on the pick up day from a driver who was going to say this and that was not listed but could be added for additional money. So I got the new updated bid, and sure enough on pick up day the driver said I had more boxes then the estimate listed and he was going to have to charge me more. I did have more but smaller boxes so the cubic feet was close enough for them to only increase the cost by a couple of hundred dollars. They ask for 60% down, which means they now have your home goods hostage for cost increases. And guess what, you will never talk to Spencer again, and your voice mail messages are almost never answered.

So delivery day arrives with no warning, what happened to the "I'll call you as soon as the truck leaves San Diego with the drivers name and phone number"? I do get a call at 8 am saying the truck is 20 miles down the road and what is your address, oh and now the price has creeped up by $1250. I told the gentlemen I will pay the amount listed on my contract and nothing more. 6 hours later an over the road 18 wheeler drives up and says he can't make the turn onto my street, and will have to go get a smaller truck and laborers to do the unloading tomorrow and it will cost an additional $1250. It's funny how that worked out isn't it. They knew at 8:00 in that morning that the truck was not going to make the turn and it was going to cost an additional $1250. And the laborers, who was supposed to do the unloading if the truck had made the turn?

I asked for a copy of the subcontractors receipt showing the $1250 they were going to charge me for the truck and laborers and was told no can do but he would change my contract to reflect the additional money. A third party truck driver can't change a contract, so I will write up a receipt showing the bill paid in full and the increase in cost and get the driver to sign it or head on down the road. My things arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon and by 6:30 they were done. The driver was actually very good at unloading and teaching the youngsters working with him to be careful. Some stuff got lost, a good bit was damaged and we did end up with a few items that weren't ours and put them back on the truck. I don't expect to receive much if anything back from Valet Movers, but my wife may try.

The bottom line here is they walked through the house, opened doors, drawers and closets, they made a list and they put a price on their list, then once you pay 60% and they have your stuff, they start jacking up the price. Would I use them again? Not in this lifetime and I would not recommend them to my friends either. They are a great bait and switch company and they are very good at the bait and switch. In the end, their price is more than one of the bids I had originally received, so I don't see any savings going with them but a lot of headaches.

I have all table lamps and one floor lamp broken, a box of clothes missing. But I ended up with someone else's art mixed in with mine. How did that happen? I guess they opened up to loads and mixed them up, thanks for opening my boxes Valet Movers. Oh, and one of the day laborers hired to help unload told my wife the real reason I was charged the extra 1250 was because my stuff was in the middle of two other people furniture and they had to unload theirs to get to mine so just decided to charge me for their loading mistake.

Long-distance move from California to New Jersey

California to New Jersey.

You never know what you are getting into when you go online to get a moving quote.  The whole ordeal was extremely overwhelming for my wife and I.  After receiving numberous phone calls and emails from many different companies, I chose Valet Movers simply because when I spoke with Rachel, she answered all of my questions honestly, and I did not feel like I was in danger of being ripped off.  We set the date for pickup for March 1st, and when asked about delivery time, she was very honest in telling me about some of the delays they had been experiencing due to the weather across the country, and this could very well happen in my circumstance.  I appreciated the honesty.  Whe the movers came on the day of my pickup, I was happy to find that they were all very professional and courteous.  They packed my house efficiently and quickly, and I was not at all concerned about the transporting of my items, because all furniture was wrapped very well in blankets.   I was pleasently surprised when I got a phone call from Rachel 7 days later saying that my items hadwere leaving their warehouse and would be there within the next week.  Apart from a few boxes being slightly crushed because of stacking.  All of my belongings were delivered in good condition.  I will be using Valet Movers again, and have since recommended them to other co workers who are moving to our new headquarters in New Jersey.
