Valet Movers

Frankly I am shocked to see these bad reviews. I had a very good experiance with Valet Movers. The phone was always answered when I called, a nice young man named Spencer came out to do a visual estimate and the move was in fact the cost I was quoted. Each of my furniture items were wrapped and prepped correctly and the move was done quickly, efficantly, and everyone was courtous. I don't know about these other reivews, but I will say that Valet Movers did a great job for me!

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5635

You never know what you are getting into when you go online to get a moving quote.  The whole ordeal was extremely overwhelming for my wife and I.  After receiving numberous phone calls and emails from many different companies, I chose Valet Movers simply because when I spoke with Rachel, she answered all of my questions honestly, and I did not feel like I was in danger of being ripped off.  We set the date for pickup for March 1st, and when asked about delivery time, she was very honest in telling me about some of the delays they had been experiencing due to the weather across the country, and this could very well happen in my circumstance.  I appreciated the honesty.  Whe the movers came on the day of my pickup, I was happy to find that they were all very professional and courteous.  They packed my house efficiently and quickly, and I was not at all concerned about the transporting of my items, because all furniture was wrapped very well in blankets.   I was pleasently surprised when I got a phone call from Rachel 7 days later saying that my items hadwere leaving their warehouse and would be there within the next week.  Apart from a few boxes being slightly crushed because of stacking.  All of my belongings were delivered in good condition.  I will be using Valet Movers again, and have since recommended them to other co workers who are moving to our new headquarters in New Jersey.

I never leave reviews but after our experience with Valet Movers I felt I needed to share our story so others don't make the same enormous mistake of using this moving company. My husband, 1 year old and I moved from Orange County to Washington in September and used Valet movers as our moving company. 

At first I was confident in their services as Spencer was polite and prompt to return all phone calls. The quote was much less than other companies in the area and this should have been our first red flag. 

When they arrived on moving day it took over 6 hours to pack everything but they did a great job according to my husband who is an engineer and a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of stuff. 

The main reason we chose Valet movers was the promise that they could deliver our things within 10 days no problem- it is hard going without stuff with a 12 month old!! Our things didn't arrive until 3 weeks after our move in date- there is fine print in the contract saying they have 3 weeks to get it to us. During this time I tried calling Valet Movers, asked to talk to a supervisor about this and never received a call back to my many calls. We were honestly worried about even getting our things, 

THE WORST PART was the condition our stuff arrived in. A pottery barn hutch that was a wedding gift was broken and scratched, a cedar chest was split in half and legs were broken off, dishes were broken, pantry items smashed. We are still missing my husbands very expensive tool chest and a couple boxes- including a box with our Christmas china and decorations. We had our boxes professionally packed to ensure this wouldn't happen. But the worst part of all was that we were told they would take care of things like this but they don't- they refer you to a third party complaint remediation company that requires a ton of documentation and still only gives you $0.60 per pound of the damaged item!! So for our damaged hutch we would get less than $25- not worth the headache. 

I should also mention that all of our things came coated in layers of dust that permeated all boxes and wood dressers. This caused our entire family to have terrible allergy for weeks and every item of clothing had to be washed and all the upholstery cleaned. This made our new house very dirty and was a huge pain- as if moving isn't hard enough!

I hope someone will benefit from my review and avoid this company and their lip service at all costs!

Hiring Valet Movers was probably the worse decision made. The idea that it is a local company that cares is truly just false. They not only destroyed most of what was delivered in the move but also lost and delivered other people's items to our house instead. It has been 6 months since the move and still no insurance coverage for the lost and damaged items. Caring is not something they represent at all and even following through with what they were contractually hired to do.

I was originally booked with another company but after reading their reviews decided to go with Valet Movers. I was nervous about the initial reviews I saw about these guys as well, until an agent told me to scroll down and click on the filtered reviews ( I guess yelp thinks their reviews are fake). I booked with Valet Movers two days before my move. I was stressed out of my mind because of the move being so last minute. I did not take advantage of the onsite, however they did estimate my cubic feet almost on the dot. They showed up on a Saturday (thank god they work weekends), with three guys, and really WORKED! In three hours they had my three bedroom house packed and in the truck. My things arrived eleven days after they picked it up. It hard hard to be in Oregon without my things for so long, but honestly so worth the wait. Don't move yourself, hire these guys. They're super friendly, cheap, and hard workers! THANKS VALET MOVERS!
